Did anyone else see the news about the memorial on May 20th for Day'Shawn? It seemed like the entire community came together. What really struck me was not just the sheer number of people who turned out to show their support, but the stories shared by those who knew him. One attendee mentioned how much Day'Shawn loved visiting the car wash with his uncle. It's those simple moments that speak volumes. I can’t even begin to imagine what his family is going through right now, but it’s touching to see the neighborhood standing with them. Does anyone know if there have been updates from the police lately? I hope the support continues and we start seeing some progress in the investigation soon. Keeping the family in my thoughts.

I've been reflecting on the immense pain Day'Shawn's family must be enduring right now. I can't even imagine the magnitude of their loss. It's truly shocking that a child could be taken from his loved ones in a place where he should have been safest—his grandparents' home. It's a terrifying reminder of how fragile life can be and how gun violence can devastate families and communities in an instant. I attended the candlelight vigil that was held for Day'Shawn and was struck by how close the community was. Everyone seemed to come together not just to mourn, but to support one another in the face of this tragedy. It was a touching tribute to Day'Shawn and a powerful call for justice. It's incredibly frustrating that, as of now, no arrests have been made. I can't help but feel that until those responsible are found, the wound in the community will remain open. I hope that the right answers come to light soon. My heart is with Day'Shawn's family and everyone who loved him. Let's keep sharing his story and pushing for accountability. His life should be remembered and honored by fighting for a safer world for all kids.
