Hey everyone,
I’ve been thinking a lot about the case involving Toshika Boler and Trevon Harris at the Phillips 66 on 34th and Keystone. It’s just so unsettling to think that two lives can be snuffed out so suddenly. What grabbed my attention recently was how the community responded afterward. Several local residents have been vocal about the lack of action to improve safety in that area, especially since it’s been marked as one of the city’s most violent spots.
I read that after the shooting, there was a surge of community meetings and some petitions demanding enhanced safety measures at gas stations across the neighborhood. It breaks my heart for the families who have been left to mourn their loved ones while also fighting for changes that should have been in place long before this tragedy occurred.
Does anyone know if any of those safety measures have been taken seriously by local authorities since then? It feels like steps in the right direction could prevent future senseless acts like this. My thoughts are with both families as they navigate this painful journey.
Stay safe out there, everyone. ?
I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact this has had on the community, especially around the Phillips 66 gas station where Toshika Boler and Trevon Harris were killed. It feels like there’s been so little progress in terms of real change in these neighborhoods. I read somewhere that the families are advocating for improved security measures. It’s frustrating to think that maybe with better security, such as adequate lighting and surveillance, these lives could have been saved. My heart goes out to their loved ones–it's unimaginable to endure such a loss and then feel like the safety of an area is only addressed after such tragedies occur. It's like these concerns are always talked about but never see tangible improvements. What do you all think can realistically be done to make these areas safer? I think community involvement might be key, but it's hard to say in neighborhoods where violence is so pervasive. Let’s keep discussing and pushing for those in power to make some real changes.
I'm really troubled by the ongoing issue of inadequate security measures at places like the Phillips 66 gas station where Toshika Boler and Trevon Harris lost their lives. It's unsettling to think that basic improvements such as better lighting and surveillance could potentially make a world of difference in preventing such tragic events. Given the neighborhood's history, you'd expect there would be more proactive efforts to keep residents safe. My heart truly goes out to the families who are left with so many unanswered questions and the heavy burden of seeking justice. How can we push for better safety measures in these high-risk areas to prevent future tragedies?
