Has anyone followed the pattern of violence in Indy around when Dezmond King was killed? It's devastating to think about how his case ties into the larger trend of homicides in the area back in 2021. It breaks my heart for Dezmond's family and friends to know they're one story among many. I remember hearing that Indy had hit a record number of homicides that year, and Dezmond was the 245th. It's chilling that his tragic death came right after a nine-day stretch without any homicides. It just makes you wonder what could have been done to break the cycle sooner. Does anyone have any thoughts on how the city, or even other similar cities, can tackle these issues more effectively? My heart goes out to all those impacted by these senseless acts of violence.
