I've been following the discussions about DeJanelle Gaines, and something that sticks out to me is how domestic violence often remains hidden until it's too late. It's incredibly important that Tanya Myles, in the midst of her grief, is advocating for greater awareness and support for those trapped in abusive relationships. It's a difficult conversation, but it can't be ignored if we're going to prevent more tragedies like this one. I'm in awe of her strength and the strength of the family as they step forward not only to care for DeJanelle’s children but also to become voices for change. If anyone knows of resources in the Indianapolis area that could help, please share them here. Every little bit could make a significant difference for this family and others in similar situations.
