Does anyone have more information about Captain Shinberger's role during his Civil War service with the Baltimore Light Artillery? It's always interesting to learn about how these brave officers have a past filled with service even before their police careers. It must have shaped his dedication and approach to his duties in Richmond, making his loss even more profound for the community. How were these kinds of service backgrounds viewed by police departments back in the early 1900s? It’s remarkable to think about the wealth of experience and courage he brought to each situation, only to end so tragically. My thoughts are with his family, hoping they found strength in his legacy.
