Hi everyone,
I’ve been digging into Diana Lynn Avera’s case, and something that puzzles me is the delay in noticing her absence. How did the hospital not realize she was missing for hours? I get that protocols might have been different in 1982, but it seems like a significant oversight, especially given her vulnerability. Was it a lack of adequate supervision or just an unfortunate oversight? It makes me wonder if this lapse affected the initial search efforts. Maybe someone here has more insight into how patient outings were handled back then? It's unsettling to think how precious time was lost, and I hope that didn't hinder any chance they had at finding her sooner. What do you all think? Could this delay have contributed to her case going cold? Would love to hear your thoughts and any similar cases you’ve come across.
