Every time I read about the Old Southwest tragedy, my heart goes out to Daniel Barry Mason's family. It's hard to imagine what they must be going through. A detail that really stood out to me was how Daniel was described as someone who enjoyed socializing and spending time with friends. It must have been so painful for those who knew and loved him to hear about what happened on what should have been a joyful night. The thought that an evening of welcoming the new year could turn into such a nightmare is chilling. I hope that, beyond the legal proceedings, there's an opportunity for the community to come together to support the survivors and honor the memories of the victims, including Daniel. If anyone has info about memorials or support groups for the families, please share. Keeping them all in our thoughts.
