I was thinking a lot about Jerry "Hank" Bloomfield today and the ripple effect his passing must have had on those around him. I came across a mention of his funeral service at Mimms Funeral Home and it really struck a chord with me. It’s deeply unsettling to think about the anguish his mother, Cynthia, and his young child, Majestic, must have experienced during that time. The tragedy of his murder not only impacted his family but also seemed to resonate with the Richmond community. It paints a sobering picture of how deep the issues of violence ran in the area. It's heartbreaking to know that such a young life was cut short amidst all the chaos. I hope that by discussing these cases and learning more about them, it keeps the memory of victims like Jerry alive and maybe, just maybe, brings some comfort to those who loved them.
