I can't stop thinking about how frightening it must have been for Emily to face such terror right in what should have been the safety of a neighbor's home. Just imagining her enduring those terrifying final moments, caught in a situation so devastating, makes me feel for her friends and family even more. It's hard to grasp how a community can move forward when something this traumatic occurs right next door. I'm relieved that, after so many years, there seems to be progress with an arrest, but it's tough to shake off the fear that it could take that long to find justice. I hope this step leads to some semblance of peace for Emily’s loved ones and neighbors. Cases like these really stress how vital it is for communities to remain vigilant and supportive, not just for today but for every person like Emily who deserved so much better.
