I’ve been following Kemon’s case and can’t stop thinking about the ripple effects on everyone involved. It’s so devastating to see how one moment can change so many lives. My heart goes out to both Kemon’s family and the young boy involved. It’s a painful reminder that access to guns can bring such tragedy, especially in neighborhoods already grappling with these hardships. Something that stood out to me from the court proceedings was the judge's acknowledgment of the community's demand for answers. It’s so important for everyone to feel some sense of closure, even though the court can’t provide all the answers we need. Hearing De’Andre Barnes’ push for more nonprofit programs shows that the community isn’t giving up—they’re channeling this pain into action. I truly hope that this sparks some real change in Portsmouth. Stay strong, Kemon's family and friends. We’re all thinking of you.
