I'm feeling so sorry for Lemlem's family and loved ones right now. It’s devastating thinking about how the system tried to protect her but somehow fell short. She did everything right by reporting the abuse and seeking help — yet it wasn’t enough. The idea that Christopher could still find her after the police steps were taken is terrifying. How do we ensure this doesn't keep happening? I hope her family finds peace and strength during this unbelievably tough time. Sending all my thoughts and prayers to her family. If anyone has ideas on how communities can better protect individuals from domestic violence, please share. We really need to keep discussing these issues so Lemlem's story isn't repeated.

It's truly difficult to comprehend what happened to Lemlem. I've been thinking a lot about the procedures around protection orders. It seems like the system was trying to do its part—police responding to calls, obtaining warrants, and escorting her for safety. Despite all those measures, tragedy still struck. It's just so frustrating that there wasn't enough time or resources to serve the EPO effectively. It makes you wonder how often these protective measures can fall through the cracks and what can be improved to prevent future tragedies. My heart goes out to Lemlem's family and friends. I can’t imagine what they’re going through, knowing everything was in place, yet it still wasn’t enough.
