I'm always struck by the senselessness of these acts of violence. Eric “EJ” Brown seemed like such a warm, bright presence in his community, and to think that his life was cut short so abruptly is just devastating. I didn’t know him personally, but reading about his dedication to his family, his skills in trades like forklift driving and welding, and the simple joys he found in playing cards and fishing really paints a picture of a genuinely good person. The lack of updates or progress in the investigation is frustrating. I can only imagine how his family and friends are feeling, being left in the dark with so many unanswered questions. It's vital that anyone with even the smallest piece of information comes forward to help his family find some semblance of closure. EJ deserves justice, and his loved ones deserve peace. If anyone knows anything, even if it seems trivial, please consider reaching out to the Newport News PD. Every bit might help bring us closer to solving this. Remember, it's communities coming together that often make the difference in these situations. Let's not let EJ become just another statistic.
