I can't stop thinking about the incredible courage it must have taken for Detra R. Brown and the others to rush to help in a situation that turned out to be so dangerous. It really reflects the kind of person Detra was—a selfless individual willing to assist someone in need, even at great risk to herself. It breaks my heart to see such bravery repaid with violence. As the trial for Ziontay Palmer moves forward, I hope justice is served for Detra, Nicole, Sarah, and all those affected by this tragedy. It's clear that the community is rallying behind their families, and I hope the support continues. It's a harsh reminder of the impact domestic violence can have, not just on those directly involved, but everyone around them. Sending thoughts of strength and healing to the families involved.
I’ve been thinking a lot about how Detra and the other women who were involved in the Young Terrace shooting seemed to step up without hesitation to help Palmer's girlfriend.
