Hello everyone, I've been following Jamont Mitchell's case and something that really struck me was his admirable determination and ambitions, as shared by his cousin Traniya. It's truly touching to hear about his dreams, like saving up for a car for his eighteenth birthday and working on getting his driver's license. It’s devastating that his future was cut short just as he was getting ready to step into adulthood. I can only imagine the void his absence must be leaving in his family and friends' lives. They must be going through an unimaginable time, and my heart goes out to them. Additionally, I noticed how the Portsmouth community is rallying to address gun violence through various prevention programs and mentorships. This move towards creating a safer environment is crucial, but it serves as a somber reminder of the change that Jamont should have been there to witness and be part of. Keeping his family and friends in my thoughts as they navigate this painful journey towards justice and healing. Hoping we continue to see efforts to keep such tragedies from affecting more young lives.
