Has anyone else looked into the weather conditions around the time Nghia and Kurt disappeared from the Louise? I've been digging through some old archives, and it seems like there were some rough seas reported around that time near Dutch Harbor. We all know these waters can be unpredictable, but I'm curious if there were any specific warnings or advisories they might have received before setting sail. Sometimes I wonder if taking another route or delaying their departure could have made a difference. It's just tragic thinking about how something like weather could play such a pivotal role in these cases. Would love to hear thoughts or info from anyone familiar with the conditions back in '91!

I recently came across the case of Nghia and Kurt Langer, who vanished while aboard the fishing vessel Louise back in 1991. Something that's been puzzling me is the weather conditions during their trip. I've been reading that waters around Dutch Harbor can be particularly treacherous during that time of year. I'm curious if anyone has more information about the weather reports of late October in 1991 or if similar incidents have occurred around that time in recent years. Could extreme weather have played a role in their disappearance? It just seems like such a dangerous time to be out at sea, but I'm not sure how often this has happened to other vessels in the same area. Any insights would be appreciated.

Does anyone have any updates on the recent search attempts for the Louise? I can't stop thinking about how unpredictable the waters around Dutch Harbor can be, especially in late October. It must have been a real challenge for the search teams, given the time and conditions. I've been reading about similar cases in that area, and the odds aren't always in their favor. It makes you wonder about what more could be done in terms of safety measures or tracking devices on these fishing boats. Does anyone here have insights on advancements in that regard since 1991? I feel like any new technology could make a huge difference in preventing tragedies like Nghia and Kurt's disappearance.
