In the quiet community of Grand Rivers, Kentucky, the life of 28-year-old Robert G. Belt, Jr., a white male, was tragically cut short on December 21, 2018. Known affectionately as 'Little Robert' to his family and 'Bob' to his friends, he was a loving father to two young daughters. A 2009 graduate of Livingston Central High School, he was a welder by trade and a member of the Dyer Hill Baptist Church.
He had a passion for hunting and the outdoors, and was known for his kind heart and the constant smile he wore, especially when surrounded by his loved ones.
The devastating event that claimed his life also took two others, January Stone, 38, and Johnny Mallory, 49. The three victims were discovered with gunshot wounds inside a residence on Stringtown Road. The Livingston County Coroner pronounced all three dead at the scene, their lives ended in a brutal act of violence that shook the small town. The autopsies later confirmed that the cause of death for all three individuals was gunshot wounds.
The investigation, a collaborative effort between the Kentucky State Police and the Livingston County Sheriff's Office, quickly led to an arrest. Jackie Clint Doom, a 29-year-old resident of Grand Rivers, was taken into custody and charged with three counts of murder. He was held on a $3 million bond. During the course of the investigation, a motive began to surface. Doom reportedly believed that the victims had sold drugs to his pregnant wife, which he alleged caused her to have a miscarriage. However, this claim was not substantiated by the investigation.
