Wow, this whole case is so disturbing on many levels, but one thing I can't stop thinking about is the impact it must have had on the community in Elizabeth, especially right around the area of New Point Road and Seventh Street. I mean, these were random, terrifying acts of violence that unfolded in what I'm guessing was a pretty localized area. My heart goes out to those who lived in constant fear during those weeks. I'm sure it was incredibly traumatizing for anyone who had to hear those shots in the middle of the night or witness anything from their windows. I really hope the community has had the support it needs to heal from the events of that terrible day. How have folks in the area responded since then? Were there vigils or community gatherings to honor the lives lost? Community strength can be so powerful during times of senseless tragedy.
