I’ve been following the discussions around the tragic loss of Hassan Reeds, and something that stands out to me is the location where the incident occurred. It’s so unsettling to think that both the shootings in 2005 and 2019 happened near Weequahic High School. This area should be a place of learning and growth, yet it’s been marked by such violence over the years.
