I came across Phillip Cabot Lloyd Martin's case, and something that stands out to me is the timing of his disappearance. It's hard not to be suspicious about the gap between when he vanished on September 30 and when he was reported missing on October 11. That's a pretty long stretch of time before someone officially raised the alarm. Does anyone know who reported him missing? Was it his ex-wife, a friend, or someone else? And why did it take so long? I'd imagine with his transient lifestyle, maybe friends or family thought he was just moving around as usual. But it makes me wonder if there were missed opportunities early on when they could have found out more about his whereabouts or any connections to Shermantine and Herzog. Would love to hear if anyone else has insights or thoughts on what might have happened during that time frame.
Does anyone else find it odd how Phillip Martin's gold 1987 Chevy Celebrity was found burned in a vineyard near Lodi? To me, that seems like a chilling message. It makes you wonder if whoever did this wanted to make sure no evidence was left behind, or if it was meant to send a warning. Given Martin's known connections to the Speed Freak Killers, I'm not surprised they're the primary suspects, but has anyone found any evidence that they have done something similar with other victims' vehicles? It's frustrating how many unsettling details there are in this case, and yet we still don’t have closure on what really happened to him.
