I've been reading up on the Hazelwood massacre, and I can't shake the image in my mind of young Tessie Brown's promising life being cut short. She was just 19. It's incredibly sad to think about all the dreams and possibilities she had that won’t ever come to be. In these true crime cases, it's sometimes easy to focus on the main target or the criminal elements, but we mustn't forget the innocent people like Tessie who got caught up in this senseless violence. My heart goes out to her family and friends who have had to live all these years without justice or closure. I hope that someday the truth emerges, and they find the peace they deserve. Such a tragic loss for the community.
