Remembering Officer Tony L. Thames today and reflecting on how deeply impactful and devastating his loss must have been for his family, friends, and colleagues. As a true crime enthusiast, it’s hard for me to imagine the courage it took for him to confront those attackers that night outside the Balmar Motel. He was off-duty and had every right to be enjoying his time, but instead, he faced a situation head-on with bravery. It's a stark reminder of the dangers that law enforcement officers face, even when they are not on the clock. My thoughts are with those who continue to cherish his memory and honor his legacy, especially as they reflect on the incredible sacrifice he made that night. His story is a profound example of dedication to protecting others, and he deserves to be remembered for his service. If anyone has personal stories or memories of Officer Thames, I'd love to hear more about the man behind the badge. Sharing his story keeps his memory alive and showcases just how important he was to those who knew him.
