I can't stop thinking about the incredible courage and selflessness Courtney Meeks showed in the face of such danger. It blows my mind how, even when faced with armed criminals, his first instinct was to protect those in need. Security guards often don’t get the credit they deserve for keeping us safe, and Meeks exemplified the very best of what it means to serve and protect. His actions make me wonder about the kind of support and training security personnel receive to handle these life-threatening situations. Are there improvements that could be made to better prepare them or provide more protection? The whole incident is just a painful reminder of the risks they take on every day. My heart truly goes out to his friends and family, who must be dealing with such a huge loss.
