I wanted to share some thoughts about the case of Aura Rosser, as it has been on my mind a lot lately. One aspect that keeps haunting me is the long-term impact on her family and the community dealing with this tragedy. Losing someone you love in such a sudden, violent way must be unimaginable. From everything I’ve read, Aura was a talented artist and loved by her friends and family. Her life was so much more than how it ended, and it's heartbreaking to think that her name is now often brought up in discussions about police violence. I can’t help but wonder how her family is managing to cope with the publicity and legal battles, on top of their grief. It’s been nearly a decade, and it’s clear the community isn’t ready to forget. The continued vigils and advocacy for change show a lot of strength and perseverance, which is really inspiring. I'm hoping that these efforts will lead to real, meaningful change, so no other family has to go through this. For anyone in the community, how are local attitudes towards the police now? Are there any ongoing initiatives or dialogues that show promise on the reform front? Would love to hear how you're all feeling about this, far too many unanswered questions still linger.
