Was anyone else taken aback when they found out that the gun used in Leroy Davis's murder was a police-issued weapon reported missing since 2011? This revelation is deeply concerning and raises so many questions about what went wrong in tracking and securing these firearms. How does a weapon just disappear for years and then resurface in such a tragic way?
It must be incredibly frustrating for his family to know that a tool meant to protect the community instead contributed to this tragedy. I can't imagine the emotional weight they're carrying, especially his children, knowing that the justice system that should be finding solutions seems to have lost control somewhere along the line.
This situation really makes one question the protocols in place for handling and securing police weapons. It just feels like there needs to be more accountability to ensure something like this doesn't happen again—not just for closure in this case, but for the safety of the community at large. Thoughts?
