Hey everyone, I've been thinking about the unsolved nature of Edward Johnson Jr.'s case and it's so unsettling, especially with the strain placed on Flint's law enforcement back in 2015. We all understand the massive challenges they faced with the surge in violence, but it breaks my heart that his family hasn't seen justice for his tragic and untimely death. I'm curious if anyone knows whether there were any community initiatives or outreach efforts that started in response to the violence during that period? Did the increased involvement from the Michigan State Police lead to any changes, however small, that could have potentially benefited these investigations? Sending thoughts and strength to Edward's loved ones and everyone in Flint affected by those terrible weeks. Communities should never have to face such fear and loss. Stay safe out there, everyone ?

Has anyone here heard updates about the investigation into Edward Johnson Jr.'s murder? It's been years, and I've been thinking a lot about the families who lost loved ones during that violent summer in Flint. Edward's death, along with the others, feels like a story that got lost in all the chaos. I hope the investigators were able to make some progress or that his family got some answers. Flint went through such a tough time that year, and it must have been incredibly difficult for everyone affected. Sending my thoughts to Edward's family and the community—they deserve justice and peace. If there's any new info or ways to help, please share!

I can't stop thinking about the wave of violence that overtook Flint in 2015 and how it took away young lives like Edward Johnson Jr.’s. It must be incredibly difficult for his family and friends to wrap their minds around such an unexpected and senseless loss. Reading about how he was involved in that tragic shooting on August 8th really brings back the anxiety about that period of uncertainty and fear in Flint. I noticed that there was another person injured in the same incident. Sometimes we focus so much on those who passed that we forget about the survivors who are left with physical and emotional scars. I hope that they have found some healing and support in these years since the tragedy. It’s hard to see any progress with these cases when the police resources are so thin and the broader investigation might overshadow the smaller individual stories. It makes you wonder what more could have been done, or how things might have been different if there had been more support for both the community and the police force. Hoping Edward’s family finds some comfort and that Flint continues to seek peace and healing. Any thoughts on how communities can rally around those affected long-term by such widespread violence?
