I've been following Corey's case, and something that's struck me is the role social media might play in these transactions. I can't help but wonder if Corey and Dante had connected through a platform that facilitated sneaker sales, and if so, could there be a way to make these interactions safer? It's so devastating to think a young person lost his life over something as simple as sneakers. I know other communities have initiated "safe exchange zones" near police stations for transactions arranged online. Could something like this have prevented this tragedy? My heart goes out to Corey’s family and friends; I can't imagine their pain. As a society, we need to be more proactive in creating safe spaces for young people. Has anyone else seen successful safety measures in their area?

I came across Corey's story today, and it just breaks my heart to see such a bright young life taken so senselessly. What's really sticking with me is the friendship and loyalty on display that day in the SUV. Corey's friend, despite the terrifying situation, was there for him in those final moments and even tried to defend both of them. It's a testament to the kind of person Corey was, surrounded by people who cared deeply for him. This makes me wonder about how impactful Corey's relationships were and the kind of friend he must have been. His presence clearly meant a lot to those around him, and I can't help but think of the pain his friends and family continue to experience. It's just so devastating to see violence ripple through a community like this, taking with it the laughter, the joy, and the future that people like Corey would have shared with the world. Sending strength and love to all those hurting and hoping for a day when stories like this become a thing of the past.
