I’ve been following Shavon Mitchell’s story closely and can’t get over how brave she was trying to break free from such a toxic relationship. It’s so disturbing to think about the control and manipulation her abuser, Kevin Fox, exerted over her, even involving their young son in his last moments. I can’t imagine the terror Shavon must’ve felt those last few days. Her family’s strength during this horrific time is commendable, especially her aunt, Tenisha Yancey, using her platform to bring awareness to domestic violence. I truly hope more preventative measures and stronger support systems become available for others in Shavon’s position. No one should have to face such fear alone. Sending love and strength to her family and little boy.
