Has anyone thought about how hard it must be for Mariano's family to accept the plea deal offered to Juan M. Mireles? I can't even begin to imagine the pain they're going through knowing the person responsible for such a senseless tragedy isn't facing a life sentence. From what I've read, Mariano was someone who brought so much light and positivity to those around him. It's awful to think that someone who had so much potential and kindness could be taken from his loved ones over a dispute that didn’t involve him. I hope Mariano's family finds some comfort and strength in each other and in the memories they shared with him. It just feels so unfair. Would love to hear other perspectives on how plea bargains in such cases make people feel.
