I've been thinking a lot about the impact that this tragic case had on the Port Gibson community. It's truly difficult to comprehend how Kawanna Williams and Melvina Hedrick's lives were taken so suddenly and violently. What I'm really curious about, and hoping someone can shed light on, is the community's response at the time. Was there anything organized in terms of support for their grieving families? It's a small town, and I can only imagine how tight-knit everyone is. I heard that Kawanna's funeral was held at East Mount Olive M.B. Church, where the turnout was significant. It seems like many wanted to honor her memory and stand by her family during such a trying time. If anyone attended or knows more, could you share how the community came together? It must have been incredibly moving to witness such solidarity in the face of such tragedy. Thoughts and prayers go out to both families. The road to justice can be long and grueling, and they deserve every bit of support from those around them.
