I can't shake the feeling of loss surrounding Mel Groves' death. I've been following the case closely, hoping for more answers about that tragic morning. As a plant-soil scientist, Groves was someone who had so much promise and passion, especially with his involvement in The Knights and Orchids Society. It makes you think about the vast potential lost in such cruel circumstances. I’m particularly concerned about the lack of leads from the Jackson Police. No arrests yet, and we're still unclear about where the shooting happened or the motive behind it. I wonder how the investigation is being prioritized, especially considering the broader pattern of violence against Black transgender individuals. It's heartbreaking to watch this happen time and again without meaningful action or resolution. I hope anyone with information comes forward soon. This case is a painful reminder of how much work is still needed to protect our transgender friends and family. We have to keep pushing for change and justice for those like Mel who can no longer speak for themselves. His community deserves answers, and Mel deserves justice.
