Hey everyone, I've been following the case of the missing fisherman, Alan Young, and I can't help but feel puzzled about the abandoned vessel, "Swift," found by the "Pacific Horizon." It seems so strange that the entire boat was just left anchored. I read that the captain, Tim Lane, went after Alan on a skiff and ended up with hypothermia on a nearby beach. It makes me wonder what happened on that boat before Alan went overboard. Was there some sort of emergency or equipment failure? The details on how the "Swift" ended up unattended are still unclear, and it's hard not to speculate about what led to such a situation. Hope there are more updates soon that shed light on this mystery. Anyone else have thoughts on why the "Swift" could have been left that way?

I’m really curious about what might have happened aboard the Swift before Alan Young went overboard. It’s puzzling that the vessel was found anchored and seemingly abandoned. Could there have been some mechanical failure or other issue that forced the captain and Young into that situation? Also, with Tim Lane appearing to go after Young in a skiff, it makes me wonder if Alan fell or if there’s something more to the story that’s not being talked about yet. Considering the conditions and the cold Alaskan waters, it's so dangerous to be without a flotation device. I hope more details come to light to help make sense of this tragic situation. Does anyone have more insight into the protocols for safety equipment on these fishing vessels? It’s alarming to think that accidents like this can happen so suddenly and without much warning, especially in such a remote and challenging environment.
