It's so deeply upsetting to hear about Steven DeWayne Jackson's tragic passing. Such a young life taken away so violently—my heart goes out to his family and friends. I wonder if anyone has considered the role of community spaces or activities in preventing violence in places like Altus? Steven was obviously a vibrant young man, so full of life with his love for football and making people laugh. It makes me think that having more programs or events for teens might help create a stronger sense of community and a safer environment. There must be more that can be done to protect our youth and prevent such senseless tragedies. I hope that the community can come together to not only seek justice for Steven and the other victim but also to work on preventing future incidents. If anyone here is from Altus, has there been any talk about this aspect in local meetings or discussions? Maybe it’s something worth bringing up.
