I’ve been thinking a lot about the community in West Allis and how this case affected everyone there, not just those who knew Henry Hodges personally. Even years later, it’s got to be tough for residents to move past what happened, especially knowing it was someone from their own neighborhood responsible. I can’t imagine the fear that must have gripped the area during those days after the incident while they searched for the suspect. And for B.J., who survived and had to relive that night during the trial — my heart goes out to her. What an incredible weight to carry. Imagining the courage it must have taken to go through the legal process and face everything head-on is both sobering and inspiring. I hope she and Henry’s family found some peace when Rivera was sentenced to life in prison. It’s important that we continue to support initiatives aimed at reducing violent crimes within our communities. What do you all think are some effective methods communities can employ to prevent such tragedies?

Does anyone else find it haunting how some moments can change lives forever? I've been thinking a lot about how everything spiraled from that visit to Rivera's apartment. It's chilling to imagine the fear and uncertainty Henry Hodges and B.J. must have felt during those terrifying moments. The fact that a simple errand turned into such a deadly encounter is beyond tragic. I hope B.J. has found some measure of peace and support, even though that trauma must be indescribable. This case just reminds me how fragile life can be and how quickly things can turn. It's so important to stay vigilant and support each other in our communities. Sending my thoughts to Henry's family and friends, and hoping for healing all around.

I’ve been reading about the Henry Hodges case, and I can’t stop thinking about how quickly someone's life can be turned upside down by senseless violence. It's so difficult to comprehend what his loved ones must have gone through. What really strikes me is the bravery of Hodges' girlfriend, B.J. Even after enduring such a terrifying ordeal, her actions led to Rivera being brought to justice. It’s a bittersweet comfort to know that he’s serving life in prison, but it doesn’t bring back Henry or erase the trauma B.J. experienced. Cases like this make me wonder how we can better support victims and their families during and after these trials. Does anyone here know if there were any community initiatives in West Allis following this tragedy? I hope there’s a support system there for all involved.
