Has anyone else been following the John Arthur Key case? I'm curious if there have been any recent developments regarding the search technology being used on Lake Pend Oreille. From what I've read, the sheer depth of the lake seems to present a huge challenge for recovery efforts. Are there any new technologies or methods being employed that could potentially make a difference in cases like these? It's tough to imagine how such a beautiful lake can become an insurmountable barrier in a search. Also, does anyone think there might be more advanced sonar equipment or underwater drones being considered? Would love to hear thoughts or any insider info on this aspect of the search efforts.
I was reading about John Arthur Key's disappearance and got curious about the weather and lake conditions on July 2, 2017. Does anyone know if there were reports of storms or unusual water conditions on Lake Pend Oreille that might have made sailing more treacherous that day? I'm no expert, but I imagine strong currents or a sudden change in weather could be dangerous, especially if he was sailing alone. It might also shed light on why his boat was found adrift in a different area. Any locals or weather buffs here who can weigh in?
