John Arthur Key, a 67-year-old man from Newman Lake, Washington, was last seen on July 2, 2017, near Bayview, Idaho. He had been out on Lake Pend Oreille with friends and left to sail back to Bayview alone. However, he never arrived, and his boat was later found adrift in the Cape Horn area of the lake, in over 1,100 feet of water. Despite an extensive search of the lake and surrounding areas, no trace of Key was ever found, and he is presumed to have drowned.
