I recently stumbled across the tragic case of Greg Colon and Laurie Colon, and it really struck a chord with me. It's incredibly upsetting to learn about how controlling and verbally abusive behavior can escalate to such a devastating outcome. From what I've read, Laurie was planning to start a new chapter in Pennsylvania after the divorce, and it's so sad that her future was cut short in such a violent way. I've also been thinking about the role the community has played since this tragedy. It seems Laurie's friends and local supporters have stepped up in a big way, raising funds for domestic abuse programs to honor her memory. It's heartening to see people rallying together to create something hopeful out of such a sorrowful situation. Has anyone here been involved in similar community efforts, or know how effective they can be in bringing about change? Would love to hear your thoughts.
