The investigation by the Fox Valley Metro Police Department concluded that Gregory Colon acted alone in the murder-suicide. There were no signs of impairment from controlled substances or alcohol in Gregory Colon's system at the time of the incident. The police confirmed that there were no other suspects involved, and the case was closed following the determination of the murder-suicide.
