I just can't wrap my head around how things could have gotten to this point with Ryan working at Fleet Farm. It's incredibly troubling to read about the lack of security measures in place, especially since Ryan had "unfettered" access to something so potentially dangerous. It seems so preventable, and it's devastating to think about the "what ifs." The absence of trigger locks or any kind of electronic security for firearms where minors are working is utterly shocking to me. If the cameras in the storage area were truly unmonitored, Fleet Farm really needs to reevaluate their security protocols immediately. The thought that Ryan could access a firearm despite his age and personal struggles, shows a clear lapse in oversight on their part. My heart goes out to Ryan's family, who are enduring unimaginable pain. I commend them for standing up and trying to make sure no other family has to suffer this way. It's so important we pay attention to mental health and secure environments for our youth. What can we do better as a community to ensure this doesn’t happen again?
