I'm thinking about the ripple effect Kristian's death must have had on his community and family. It's not just a tragic loss for those who knew him, but also for his neighborhood that's dealing with constant violence. The fact that so many young people were caught in the crossfire back in 2012 really shows how dire the situation was, and often still is. There's always talk about needing better resources and interventions, and it's frustrating to see this cycle of violence repeat every year. My heart goes out to those who loved Kristian; living with this kind of tragedy is unimaginable. Has anyone heard if there were community programs initiated after these incidents to try to address the violence? It would be interesting to hear about any positive changes, however small, that might have come from such a grim year.
