I can't stop thinking about the vigil held on March 6 for Demond, and how it must have been a healing yet incredibly difficult moment for everyone who knew him. It's clear that Demond left a lasting impact on his community, not just through his business, Gifted Hands Group Home, but also through his character as "BIG Speaker." It's surreal to think about how someone so positive and influential could be taken away in such a brutal manner.
I wonder if more awareness about the dangers of gun violence and stronger community bonds could prevent such tragedies in Racine. It got me thinking, for those who attended the vigil, how was the atmosphere? Did those moments bring any comfort or new revelations about Demond's life and his impact on others?
The police are still asking for leads, and I hope anyone reading this who has even the smallest piece of information might think about coming forward. Demond’s family, his friends, and honestly, the whole community deserve answers and some measure of peace. Stay strong, Racine. We're all rooting for justice for Demond.
Hey everyone,

I was just thinking about the vigil that was held for Demond "BIG Speaker" Hicks back in March. It’s touching to see how the community came together to remember him. Even those who didn’t know him personally showed up because they felt the impact of his loss. It really speaks to the kind of influence he had in Racine.

I read that Demond co-owned Gifted Hands Group Home. Has anyone here had any interaction with their services? I’m wondering if there’s a way for people who were touched by his mentorship to come together and share memories or maybe even help keep his vision alive. It just seems like such a loss not only for his family but for all the young people he inspired.

If you’ve got any stories or memories to share, I’d love to hear them. Let's make sure Demond’s positive spirit continues to be felt in the community.
