Hey everyone, I've been following Adrian Cruz's case for a bit now, and something that sticks with me is how he was just caught up in one of the many tragic incidents during that awful weekend in Chicago back in 2012. It's devastating to think about how Adrian was simply living his life when this senseless drive-by occurred on the 5900 block of South Fairfield Avenue. I'm curious if anyone remembers any public initiatives or community responses that came about due to the spike in violence that weekend. Did it lead to more neighborhood watches, or did the city push for new policies? It's always been important to me how communities come together after such terrible events, both to honor the victims and to push for change. If anyone has info or memories, I'd appreciate the discussion. Adrian and the others deserve to be remembered not just for how they left us but for who they were and the changes their stories hopefully inspired. Stay safe, everyone.
