I’ve been thinking a lot about the psychological impact this whole situation must have had on the toddler. It’s so sad to think that the child was there when all of this happened. Being so young, it’s hard to imagine how they could process losing a father so suddenly and violently. I hope they are receiving the support they need, both from family and professionals. What’s also heartbreaking to me is that their memories of their father now come with this tragic cloud. They have possibly heard a lot of painful things as they’ve gotten older, given how public cases like this can be, and I just hope they have a loving environment around them to help them navigate through any confusion or hurt as they grow up. Sending all my thoughts to Melissa and her child. They’ve been through so much, and I hope they’ve found peace and healing despite everything.
