I recently came across Tabitha Apling's case, and I can't stop thinking about her two young children. They witnessed their mother being threatened and, ultimately, the violence that took her life. My thoughts are with them and the challenges they must be facing now without their mom. It’s devastating to imagine. This situation also makes me wonder about the role support systems can play for children who witness domestic violence. Are there enough resources in place to help them process such trauma? It's important that we not only focus on legal outcomes but also ensure there are avenues for emotional and psychological care for young ones who are caught in the crossfire. Does anyone know what kind of support these kids might be receiving, or how communities can rally around families in similar situations?

I’ve been reading through the details of Tabitha Apling's case, and I can't help but feel so frustrated with how broken the system is. It’s just baffling that Rashied Mitchell was let out without bail despite his violent past and the threats he made. How was this deemed safe for anyone involved? Tabitha deserved so much better. Her kids deserved to have their mom safe and sound, and instead, the system failed them. I hope this case pushes for some real change in how domestic violence cases are handled. It’s too late for Tabitha, but maybe this tragedy will help to protect others in the future. Sending love and strength to her family and kids who are living with this unimaginable loss.
