Has anyone else been thinking about the broader context of Joseph Briggs' tragic death? I’ve been reading a lot about the increase in gun violence in Chicago during that time, especially among younger people. Joseph wasn’t the only one affected that weekend, but his story really hits hard because 16 is just so young. It makes me wonder about what could be done at a community level to prevent such senseless loss of life. My heart goes out to his family and friends, who are not only grieving but also grappling with the question of why things like this keep happening. It’s so important for us to keep talking about these issues so that hopefully, someday, we can find real solutions.
