Has anyone here visited the old train tracks near Rowland where Deputy Slusher had his accident? I've been reading about the tragic incident, and I can't help but think about how different things were back then in terms of safety, especially for law enforcement officers. It's sad to consider how such a dedicated officer lost his life in an accident that might have been preventable with today's equipment standards. It's always tough to think about someone so committed to their community, leaving us in such a sudden way. I've heard the Bell County community still holds him in high esteem, and it warms my heart to know that he's not forgotten even after all these years. If anyone has any historical insights or personal stories passed down about Deputy Slusher, I'd love to hear them. It's important to keep the memories of these unsung heroes alive.
