I've been thinking a lot about the mystery surrounding Constable William Bolton's murder in 1903. It's so difficult to imagine the chaos of that day. What's really got me puzzled is the aftermath—how the relative of the two brothers just vanished without a trace. In those times, tracking someone down would have been so challenging, but still, it feels like there would've been more effort to find this person. I read somewhere that they might have had local support, which could explain how they managed to evade capture. My heart goes out to Constable Bolton's family. It must have been devastating to not only lose him but also to face the uncertainty of never seeing justice served. Does anyone know if there were ever any new leads or efforts to solve this case later on?

I'm really curious about the community's reaction to the incident at Nunnelly Springs that led to Constable Bolton's death. It must have been incredibly shocking for everyone there to witness such violence unfold at a place of worship. I wonder how the townsfolk handled the aftermath, especially knowing one of their lawmen lost his life while trying to serve his duty. It feels like, in small communities, news like this would travel fast and leave a deep impact. Were there any efforts from the local community to honor Constable Bolton or support his family after his passing? It’s hard to imagine the mix of grief and fear that must have lingered. If anyone has more details or thoughts, I’d love to hear them. Sending thoughts to all those who were touched by this tragedy.
