I’ve been reading about Sergeant William J. Collins and can’t stop thinking about the impact his loss must have had on his children. Losing a parent in such a violent way, especially when they were doing something so heroic in trying to protect their mom, must be unimaginably difficult. I hope the community is continuing to rally around them and provide support. Imagining the strength it takes to cope with something like this is awe-inspiring. If there are any local initiatives or memorials in place to honor Sergeant Collins, it would be great to learn more about them. It’s these brave acts that truly show selflessness and courage. Sending thoughts to his family and friends during what must still be such a difficult time.

Did anyone else find the way the community rallied around the Collins family incredibly moving? In the wake of this tragedy, I was amazed to see how everyone came together to support them. The memorial services were packed, and it seemed like every corner of Elizabethtown had someone sharing a story about how Sgt. Collins touched their lives. It's evident that he wasn't just an officer but also a beloved member of the community. It's comforting to know that even amidst such a painful incident, there’s so much love and support for his children and family. I hope they continue to find strength in each other and in the memories they shared with both Sgt. Collins and his wife. Truly thinking of them during this difficult time.
