I’ve been thinking a lot about the ripple effects that tragedies like L.C. Robinson's murder have on the community. When I read about his funeral at New Bethlehem #4 Baptist Church, it struck me how important these gatherings are—not just for saying goodbye, but for bringing people together to find strength and support. It’s clear that his passing deeply affected those around him, and I can only imagine the pain his family and friends are enduring. It's in the wake of such senseless violence that the need for community solidarity becomes even more crucial. I really hope that Robinson's loved ones felt embraced by their community during that difficult time. The struggle that Chicago faced in 2012 with the staggering number of homicides highlights how vital it is for neighborhoods to work together in seeking solutions and supporting one another. Let’s not forget the human cost of these statistics—real people, real families, and real heartbreak. My heart goes out to all who knew and loved L.C. Robinson.
