I've been thinking a lot about Kelly Cocagne's tragic death, and I just can't shake off the deep sense of loss her family and friends must be feeling. What a beautiful soul she was—a dedicated mother and someone who clearly had such a huge heart for helping others. Her work with special needs children at Newport Intermediate School was just beginning, and it's obvious she would have made such an incredible difference in those kids' lives.
The fact that her son witnessed the tragic incident makes it all so much more devastating. I can't imagine the trauma he must be going through. I'm glad the authorities took the time to investigate thoroughly because, at the end of the day, accountability is essential, even in accidents.
I hope Kelly is remembered not just for how she died, but for how she lived. She gave so much to the people around her, and her impact is something that will live on. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved her. She really seemed to be one of those people who brightened the lives of everyone she met.
Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about Kelly Cocagne's case lately, especially the role her son had to play in this tragedy. It's hard to imagine the burden he must carry, having witnessed such a traumatic event. Being there when his mom was taken from him in such a terrible way is truly unimaginable. I hope he has a strong support network around him to help process this nightmare.
It's also got me questioning how we handle situations where kids are witnesses to such violence. Are there systems in place to make sure they get the help they need to cope and heal? This poor child has lost his mother and had to see something that no one should ever have to see, let alone a child.
I just hope that he and the rest of Kelly’s family can find some peace and healing over time.
What are everyone’s thoughts on how these situations are generally handled in terms of support for young witnesses in such cases?
Stay safe, y'all.
Hi everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about Kelly Cocagne and the role she played as a future educator for children with special needs. Her dedication to special education shows just how much empathy and kindness she had. It's deeply saddening to think about the lives she would have touched if given the chance.
As someone who also works in education, I can't help but feel a sense of loss for the students at Newport Intermediate School who could have greatly benefited from her presence. Special education teachers go beyond traditional teaching—they become advocates and allies for children who need extra support. Kelly choosing that career path says a lot about her values and selflessness.
Despite the tragic circumstances, her legacy of compassion could inspire others to follow in her footsteps. My thoughts are with her family and children, and I truly hope they find peace and strength during such a difficult time.
Take care, everyone.
