I’ve been thinking a lot about the importance of gun safety since EJ's passing. It's absolutely devastating to think about how a young life was cut short because of an accident that might have been preventable. I’m not blaming anyone, but this tragic event highlights the need for more education on handling firearms safely, especially in homes with children. It’s clear from everything I’ve read that EJ was a talented and much-loved young man who had a bright future ahead of him. My heart goes out to his family, and I can’t imagine the pain they’re going through. I hope EJ’s story can spark some awareness and lead to measures that prevent something like this from happening to another family.
Has anyone else read about the tribute they did for EJ at the school gymnasium during his funeral? It's so moving to see the community come together like that. From what I've read, they filled the gym with his favorite colors and his sports jerseys, and even organized a memorial game with his teammates. It's amazing how something like this can bring out the love and strength in a community. I can't imagine the pain his family must be going through, but I hope they felt a little bit of comfort seeing so many people who cared about EJ. If anyone attended, I'd love to hear more about how it was and how the family is doing. Keeping them in my thoughts.
